NEW AMERICANS SERVICES SUPERVISOR - FULL TIME

 

Do you have workforce development experience as well as experience working with refugee population? We are seeking a people-centric supervisor for our New Americans Services Program who holds a Bachelor’s degree in human services related field with two years’ experience providing direct services to refugees and asylees. Some duties will be to coordinate and implement New Americans Employment Programs and operational and daily activities of staff, providing ongoing staff supervision, guidance and training. 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: live IN Michigan; be open to occasional across-state travel for meetings and events; effectively engage with clients, colleagues and program partners remotely.

Duties And Responsibilities

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintain current knowledge of, coordinate and implement Refugee Resettlement and/or Refugee Employment Programs within contract and licensing requirements, funding source guidelines, and accreditation standards
  2. Coordinate the operational and daily activities of staff; provide ongoing staff supervision, guidance and training in accordance with organization, program and contract policies, procedures and guidelines for program sites
  3. Assist Program Manager with recruiting, hiring, and terminating staff; conduct performance evaluation, and implement corrective action in accordance with Samaritas Personnel Policies and procedures; provide ongoing communication with director regarding such activity
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of program outcomes and evaluation related to service delivery; assist in the development and preparation of year-end program evaluation and reporting
  5. Coordinate Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) client referral process; assure referrals, interim reports, and placement details meet DHHS requirements per program requirements
  6. Provide all direct services as needed to ensure continuous service provisions to clients as required by licensing and funding sources
  7. Assist in grant proposal development and writing for the purpose of securing funding and renewal of contracts
  8. Coordinate marketing efforts with organization’s communication and marketing department and public and private community organizations and agencies to promote services
  9. Complete required narrative and statistical reports
  10. Collaborate with representatives from local governmental agencies, business, and community organizations to meet service objectives of the program
  11. Assist in developing, maintaining, and communicating written guidelines and procedures governing program operations and activities

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Sixty college credit hours, preferably in a human services related field, with four years’ experience providing direct services to refugees and asylees preferred. Or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services related field with two years’ experience providing direct services to refugees and asylees preferred

 

Experience 

 

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred

 

Additional Work Requirements

 

  • Automobile travel required. Valid unrestricted driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal automobile with valid proof of automobile insurance
