Duties And Responsibilities

Provides support and leadership to assigned staff that provides services for youth in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. They will ensure the effectiveness and quality of services through monitoring, case reviews, data management and tracking, evaluation, supervision, and assist with the development and enhancement of program efficiencies in close collaboration with the program's leadership team. This role is crucial in facilitating effective teamwork and collaboration amongst the program staff to achieve optimal outcomes for those we serve.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide weekly individual and team supervision to assigned staff. Lead team meetings, train and support staff.
  2. Responsible for intake of all youth. Review referrals, ensure timely assurance of cases, pre-placement calls and transfer of clients.
  3. Work to ensure compliance with Child Caring Institution (CCI) rules and liaison with court, DHHS, ORR and other community systems.
  4. Supervise case management/educational services and overall treatment plan of clients, and community referral as needed.
  5. Support, direction and leadership for case managers, educational specialist and nutrition coordinators, as required.
  6. Provide supportive casework services to teens and assist them in developing the skills needed to move on to a more independent living arrangement.
  7. Review all court reports and attend court hearings as needed to support staff.
  8. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all reports and assignments required by the organization or other agencies.
  9. May be required to carry a case or caseload depending on need.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Master degree in Human Behavioral Science field preferred; or a Bachelor degree in a Human Behavioral Science field required.
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.

 

Experience

 

  • Three years' work experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Direct experience working with refugee children, adolescents or families preferred.

 

Additional Work Requirements

 

  • Required to participate in a system of 24 hour availability to clients and staff, as required.
  • Unrestricted, valid driver's license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
