🌍 Case Manager – Michigan Remote Services

Are you passionate about helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and hope? We’re seeking a compassionate and culturally responsive Remote Case Manager to provide essential support to refugees and asylees across Michigan.

In this impactful role, you’ll deliver culturally and linguistically sensitive services that help newcomers navigate housing, healthcare, education, employment, and legal systems. You’ll be a trusted guide and advocate—ensuring every client feels seen, supported, and empowered.

🎓 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required.
  • 1+ year of case management experience preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply—especially those fluent in Dari, Pashto, Spanish, French, or Haitian Creole.
  • Requires new hire to be resident of the state of Michigan
  • Automobile travel required. Valid unrestricted driver’s license with good driving record and reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting clients. Valid proof of automobile insurance

Duties And Responsibilities

Provides culturally and linguistically sensitive services to qualifying refugee/asylees.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintain current knowledge of applicable contract requirements and guidelines, employment trends and local labor market information to promote job development. Establish a Family Self-Sufficiency Plan (FSSP) with the input of refugee clients per Office Refugee Resettlement (ORR) regulations
  2. Develop an Individual Employability Plan (IEP) for every employable family member with the assistance and input of the refugee clients in accordance with contract, organization and accreditation standards
  3. Refer each employable adult to the appropriate components of service based on FSSP and IEP to eliminate employment barriers
  4. Complete weekly and monthly face-to-face and other required contacts for employment status updates
  5. Provide information, referral and outreach services regarding community resource, including distribution of the resource guide
  6. Assist the refugee with individual job search activities. Provide on-going support and address barriers to obtaining employment
  7. Collaborate with Job Developer to match clients with appropriate, available job opportunities or placements
  8. Maintain contact as required with refugee after employment has been attained to discuss services necessary to maintain employment. Assess refugee’s skills to ensure sustained employment. Determine if any additional skill building skills are necessary
  9. Assist refugee in obtaining Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and/or other documents as required to maintain employment
  10. Maintain relevant reports and statistics related to client activities and services provided
  11. Collaborate with various stakeholder representatives, attend meetings of local organizations, committees and churches to promoted employment and training opportunities

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field preferred or a combination of education and work experience

Experience

  • One-year experience in case management working with multi-cultural populations required; refugee experience preferred
  • Preferred Languages: Dari, Pashto, French, Spanish, Haitian Creole

Additional Work Requirements
