Duties And Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participate in program planning, goal setting, outcomes evaluation and measurement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives with the Director.
  2. Provide leadership to staff, including supervisors. Manage the operations of assigned program, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and quality assurance standards and state, contract, and organization policy and procedures. Partner with Human Resources in staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, onboarding, coaching and counseling and performance management. Ensure delegation of responsibility and accountability.
  3. Review and approve staff work schedules, use of personal leave time, and business in accordance with policies.
  4. Ensure an accurate and daily updated list of all cases currently being served by program within the assigned Foster Care office. Audit case records at least quarterly to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and licensing standards.
  5. Consult with casework and supervisory staff to assist in making replacement decisions.
  6. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of community resources; network with community agencies.
  7. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and comparable personnel at other agencies; represent the organization in interagency context and serve on committees as assigned.
  8. Assist in the maintenance of information and data management systems by providing information and statistical reports as required.
  9. Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the department’s annual operating budget within organization fiscal guidelines; ensure adherence to Corporate Financial Policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • Master's Degree in a Human Services related field with one year supervisory experience and three years’ experience as a social services worker; Or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field with two years supervisory experience and four years’ experience as a social service worker.
  • State of Michigan licensure preferred.

 

Additional Work Requirements

  • Participate, as required, in a system of 24 hour availability to persons served. Flexible work schedule that may include extended hours.
  • Unrestricted valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
